Daniel Hemric’s run at Dover Motor Speedway resulted in a 30th-place finish after succumbing to a fuel pump issue in the early stages on Friday evening. The driver of the No. 19 CRC Brakleen Chevrolet Silverado RST sits 12th in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series standings, a mere 10 markers outside the Chase provisional cut line halfway through the regular season.

Hemric posted the 15th-fastest single lap in practice and significantly improved his speed in qualifying, timing in 10th. As the green flag dropped, he climbed to ninth in the early laps but radioed to the team that his balance was on the tight side on corner exit. While running 11th on lap 25, Hemric reported an abnormally low fuel pressure reading, below 15 pounds, and was forced to pit road.

The issue necessitated the CRC Brakleen team to change fuel pumps in the garage area and returned Hemric to competition 22 laps behind. The repairs rectified the situation, and Hemric ran the rest of the event without issue, gaining six valuable championship points with a 30th-place finish.

“Really unfortunate to have that issue,” Hemric remarked. “From practice to qualifying, we were able to find some speed and qualify respectable in the top-10. The balance was a little tight firing off but we had something to compete with. I wish we were able to get our CRC Brakleen Chevy in the mix all day. Appreciate their partnership on board for their first race with NAPA, so hopefully we can make up for it at Charlotte.”
