Pursley, NAPA No. 9 Team Doing Homework on the Off-Days

Driver Daison Pursley and the NAPA Auto Parts No. 9 team took advantage of the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing series’ off-weekend to put laps on tracks that will play a big factor — and offer big paydays — later in the season.
The NAPA team’s first stop was Rossburg, Ohio. Pursley joined 34 competitors under the Friday night lights of Eldora Speedway for the first leg of the World of Outlaws #LetsRaceTwo event. Pursley timed in at 13.478 (24th) in Hot Laps, and 13.323 (sixth) in Qualifying, setting him up for for the front row of the second head race. The NAPA driver threw a slider in front of pole sitter Tanner Holmes (13) and came out in the lead on lap one before Rico Abreu (24) took over, sending the No. 9 back to P3. The No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts team started 10th in the 30-lap Feature event but lost track position quickly, eventually falling back to 18th position at the finish.
On Saturday, May 16, the team headed to Port Royal Speedway for the Keith Kauffman Classic, joining a 47-car field including a deep “Pennsylvania Posse.” Pursley posted a 16.128 (30th) in Hot Laps, and 15.481 (sixth) in Qualifying A, showing a strong foundation on which to grow. The No. 9 started on the pole of Heat 2 and was able to keep the front row, earning Pursley the ninth starting spot in Saturday night’s Feature. After a hard-fought, 30-lap feature, the NAPA No. 9 finished P10.
