That’s why summer is the perfect time to revisit some old classics or catch up on missed seasons of your favorite shows. Services like Hulu and Netflix offer a wide variety of content from TV shows to movies, and there’s plenty to choose from in the “automoTV” enthusiast category.

Here is a list of must-see flicks and shows for any car nut wanting to catch up on the best car shows and retro automoTV-related content:

Hulu

“My Classic Car”

Think you’re nutty about cars? Think again. Dennis Gage lives out just about any car lover’s dream, traveling the country and talking to other enthusiasts about the most rare and iconic cars. He often visits museums, car shows or other unique car gatherings where he learns about all kinds of classics. Hulu offers seasons 1 and 13–15 currently.

“Selling Cars in America”

Broaden your horizons with an “automoTV” documentary. Hulu offers this 57-minute story of the American car business in the 21st century. You’ll learn about those who set the tone in the modern-day showroom as well as its storied past.

“Route 66”

What could be better than a show set in the 1960s about one of the most iconic highways in America? Tod Stiles and his companion Buz Murdock travel the famous Route 66 in Tod’s Corvette. Hulu offers seasons 1–3.

Netflix

“Top Gear”

Seasons 17–21 of one of the best car shows ever on TV are now on Netflix. “Top Gear” has long been considered one of the funniest car shows ever. This trio of British car nuts are sure to leave you rolling on the floor laughing.

“Race for Glory”

If you love NASCAR, then this is the documentary for you. “Race for Glory” looks at the many facets of NASCAR, including family, faith and the lives of some of its drivers. This 56-minute documentary explores some of the most notable names in the sport, including Danica Patrick, Juan Pablo Montoya and more.

“Counting Cars”

This new series follows the everyday lives of mechanics at an automobile restoration and customization company owned and operated by Danny Koke as they see some of the world’s most iconic and unique rigs pass through their auto body shop. This one is for both the serious gearhead and the casual viewer looking to catch a laugh. Although they currently only offer a “best of” collection, keep your eyes out for more in the future.
