Bollman Recovers from Spin to Finish Seventh at Roseville

Jake Bollman showcased the gold and blue paint scheme celebrating NAPA’s 100th anniversary on Saturday night at All American Speedway (AAS) and recorded a seventh-place finish. The driver of the No. 19 NAPA Chevrolet SS recovered from a late spin to climb back to seventh in his debut at the Roseville, Calif., bullring in the NAPA Auto Parts 150.

Bollman set the tone early at the BMR team’s home track by setting the fastest lap in Saturday afternoon’s practice. However, the single-lap speed didn’t transfer to time trials as Bollman qualified eighth for the 150-lap event. Right from the outset, Bollman charged forward and vaulted himself into fourth within the first 10 circuits. After briefly relinquishing positions to eighth by lap 50, Bollman reloaded and charged back to fifth by lap 95.

However, while he was running in fourth position, Bollman was spun just as a caution flag waved with 44 laps remaining but managed to avoid contact. He tagged the back of the field and made it back to seventh position by the time the checkered flag waved.

“We had some good pace at times tonight but ultimately got put behind the eight ball when we got spun,” Bollman said after the race. “Luckily, we didn’t tear anything up and could get back going. Wish we had a little more for them but appreciate everyone at BMR and the effort they put in on our NAPA 100th anniversary Chevy. It was cool to race in front of so many NAPA customers and supporters tonight. We’ll go back and get prepared for Madera in a couple of weeks.”
