Hemric Extends Consistency with Top-10 at IRP

Daniel Hemric extended his streak of consistency on Friday night in his first start at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) to record a seventh-place finish. The driver of the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet Silverado RST notched his 12th top-10 result of the 2025 campaign and remains fourth in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series championship standings with two events remaining in the regular season.

After sprinkles and lightning strikes cancelled qualifying, Hemric took the green flag from seventh position after 50 minutes of practice under his belt. The NAPA Chevrolet fired off too tight in the opening 60-lap run and overworked the front tires. Hemric was scored in 13th position at the end of Stage 1 on lap 60.

After pitting for four tires, fuel, and adjustments to free up his balance during the first pit stop of the evening, Hemric restarted 14th on lap 71and began to move forward. His tight handling condition reappeared midway through the ensuing 30-lap run but had made forward progress. A caution on lap 100 split the field’s strategy as crew chief Kevin Bellicourt elected to keep him on track. While Hemric ran 17th at the end of Stage 2 on lap 120, he was able to restart with a significant tire advantage versus numerous competitors on lap 130.

The NAPA team’s four tire stop awakened the No. 19 Chevrolet for the final restart to commence the final segment and Hemric pounced to advance from 14th to eighth in two laps. The race ran green for the final 71 circuits, during which Hemric volleyed between seventh and ninth position. He ultimately crossed under the checkered flag in eighth but was credited with seventh after the third-place finisher was disqualified in post-race technical inspection.

“We made something out of the night at the end to get back in the top-10 with our NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet,” Hemric said. “We were really tight throughout the night and just couldn’t get the right front grip in the truck that I needed. Thankful for the effort and fight that our NAPA team put in tonight, (crew chief) Kevin (Bellicourt) and all these guys stayed in the game to get a top-10. It’s good to get a race under our belt together and make progress throughout the night. Hopefully we can build on this together as a group and make the most of these last two regular season races.”
