NAPA Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week
NAPA Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week
It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and NAPA is teaming up with TechForce and its “Grab the Wheel” Campaign. Our teams are joining together to highlight the rewards of becoming an automotive technician, along with showcasing the incredible career paths technical students can choose. Together, we’re working with partners toward our collective goal of hiring 1 million new auto technicians in the next five years. Let’s get moving!
Traditional college isn’t the only route to a successful career. Trade school education and apprenticeship programs can setup students to thrive in the job market, leading to hands-on careers where they can truly make an impact. A career as a technician helps young people create the life they want. This career path avoids the financial burden associated with a traditional four-year college, and helps establish students to enter the workforce in a success-driven career.
The NAPA Auto Care Apprenticeship Program gives aspiring technicians a roadmap to in-demand positions in the automotive industry. This training starts alongside mentors, who work closely with students to complete their ASE certifications over the course of 18 to 24 months.
Grab The Wheel With TechForce
As a technician, young workers have an open road to solid career advancement in the auto industry, with potential detours to work in additional sectors of transportation, such as motor sports, aviation and aeronautics. And with the growth of the EV market, auto techs are on the cutting edge of technology. Whether a student’s goal is joining a NASCAR or NHRA pit crew, becoming a small business owner, working as an aeronautical technician, or reaching new heights for women in the industry, the possibilities are incredibly diverse and accelerating into new areas every year.
NAPA is America’s largest network of parts and care, and we are very proud to support technical schools and their graduates. We strive to deliver access to necessary automotive service supplies for on-campus training, and we build connections between NAPA Auto Care centers and aspiring technicians, making their journey to a career as smooth as possible – no matter which technical specialty they pursue. That’s why The NAPA Network partners with organizations like TechForce to turn dreams into a reality.
