On the Road Again, Pursley and NAPA Team Take on Knoxville

Itching to get back after it following the holiday break, Daison Pursley and the NAPA Auto Parts No. 9 team traveled to Knoxville, Iowa, to keep their momentum by joining the iconic track’s local weekly show and log some laps on Saturday night at the Sprint Car Capital of the World.
Pursley’s first laps on the track left plenty of room to improve at a 16.024 (33rd) in Hot Laps and a qualifying lap of 15.929, ninth-quickest in Qualifying 2. The NAPA No. 9 started fifth in the Heat Race 3 and kept the final transfer position, locking into Saturday night’s A-Main only after a hard-fought, last-lap battle from sixth to fifth.
Pursley started the 25-lap feature from P18, on the outside of the ninth row, and battled mid-pack for the entirety of the race. When the dust settled, the NAPA No. 9 landed in the 15th position, advancing three spots on the night and gaining more intel on how to tame the tricky half-mile, semi-banked, dirt oval.
The High Limit Racing series will resume competition in Fremont, Ohio, on July 13th, kicking off one of the biggest weeks in racing. Watch every lap live on the FloRacing app.
