Pursley, NAPA No. 9 Team Show Strong Finish to 2026 High Limit Season

The High Limit Racing series concluded this week with the All-In Championship Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track, where Daison Pursley and the NAPA Auto Parts No. 9 team finished the season in top form. Coming off their back-to-back season-best finishes, the NAPA kept up their momentum and made their highest efforts through the last lap of the 2026 season.

Starting night one of the two-night event on Friday, October 16, Pursley timed in at a 13.619 during practice laps and was second-quick in Qualifying A, posting a lap of 13.167. That lined the NAPA No. 9 up fourth to start Heat 2 of the night. In the opening lap of his heat race, Pursley was able to jump to P2 before falling back to his starting position. The NAPA driver continued to challenge forward and took over the third spot on lap five of the eight-lap race, where he finished and secured his spot in the Dash. The No. 9 started and finished the seven-lap shootout in second, battling the No. 24 of points leader Rico Abreu for positions. During the A Feature, Pursley challenged to stay in podium position but fell back to fourth by lap 14. Pursley and competitor Tanner Thorson dueled back-and-forth, and he ultimately brought the NAPA No. 9 home with a fifth-place finish for the night.

The NAPA No. 9 team showed up exceptionally ready for the final race of the season on Saturday night. Pursley posted a 14.275 during practice laps and went quick-time over all of the competitors with a 13.735 qualifying lap. With the four top drivers from Friday night’s competition already locked in, Pursley started Heat 1 on the pole and had to defend his position to lock into the Dash. Unfortunately, he lost the lead on the start to competitor Austin McCarl and finished the eight-lap heat race in second. The NAPA No. 9 locked into the ninth starting spot for the final the A Feature of the season. During the 30-lap finale, Pursley challenged to advance but ultimately slipped back to 11th on the racy track. By lap 13, the NAPA 9 was back in the top 10. Pursley was able to maintain tenth to round out the season and earn ninth in the final driver standings for the season. Giovanni Scelzi won for the second night in a row, but it was Rico Abreu who was crowned High Limit Champion, marking back-to-back championships for his No. 24 team.
