Scelzi Earns Top-15 in Gateway Debut

Gio Scelzi was part of a three-car effort for Bill McAnally Racing in the ARCA Menards Series at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Ill., scoring a top-15 finish.

Scelzi was making his debut appearance at the oval outside St. Louis in the ARCA Menards Series Sioux Chief Showdown event on the NTT Data IndyCar Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series weekend.

Scelzi practiced 15th and started 16th in a starting lineup determined by showdown points. The Fresno, Calif., native improved coming out of the scheduled race break, driving the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS / Curb Records Toyota Camry to a 13th-place
finish.

Teammate Jesse Love led among Bill McAnally Racing drivers with a fifth-place finish in the No. 19 NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry, while Gracie Trotter finished 12th in the No. 99 ENEOS Toyota Camry.

A newly added event for the ARCA Menards Series West looms large for the team, with a return to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sept. 26.

Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) holds the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) record with 11 championships and eclipsed the 100-win mark in 2022. The team has piled on six titles in the last eight seasons with four different drivers since 2015. Loomis, California, native Jack Wood takes control of the No. 16 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet for the 12-race campaign in 2024 and looks to add another title trophy to the BMR archive in his first full-time AMSW campaign.
