Sweet Builds on Points Lead at Lernerville
Brad Sweet and the NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 team put on a clinic last week competing with the High Limit Racing Series in the prestigious Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway.
During Qualifying rounds, Sweet hit the speed charts at an impressive time of 13.240 seconds, earning him sixth place in Flight A. In heat race competition, the NAPA Auto Parts No.49 lined up on the outside of the front row, and Sweet held his ground to the checkered flag, finishing in second place.
In the Don Martin Memorial feature race, the Big Cat put on a show for the Lernerville Speedway fans. Sweet charged from his ninth-place starting position up to second. On the restart after a late race caution, the NAPA driver fell back to third and held the spot to the finish. It was Sweet’s third-consecutive High Limit Racing podium finish.
Brad Sweet’s consistent performances have further solidified his lead in the High Limit Racing series. He currently holds first place in the points standings with 1,904 points, maintaining a 96-point lead over second-place competitor Tyler Courtney. The series takes a break until mid-August, when Sweet and the NAPA team will return to action at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Texas.
