Sweet Earns Two Top-Ten Finishes over Weekend

Brad Sweet and the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet / NAPA AUTO PARTS team collected two top-ten finishes in three races over the past week.
It was a week full of resiliency for Sweet and the No. 49 team as they made their way down the west coast with races at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore., and Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif.

The week started off strong for the Kasey Kahne Racing team in Lebanon, Ore., with a sixth-place qualifying effort and third-place finish at the 3/10 mile oval located just south of Portland along I-5.
On Friday and Saturday, the World of Outlaw series traveled further south to Chico, Calif., for the annual two-day Gold Cup held at Silver Dollar Speedway. Sweet and team were forced to dig deep and move through the field after starting 21st on Friday night, after a 13th-place qualifying effort in Qualifying Flight B. Bumpy track conditions caused for a wheel-banging 30-lap race, which saw Sweet crossing the finish line in 13th.
Saturday night at Chico saw much of the same with close action on the track. Sweet started the feature in 13th and was able to battle his way to finish sixth, capturing his 59th top-10 finish of the season.
